This is one of the best and most popular races in the area. It is run on Remembrance Sunday in November and is organised by the Grange Farm and Dunmow Running Club. Prior to the start of the race, all the runners are invited to the remembrance service that takes place by the War Memorial in Stebbing village. Runners do not have to attend the service and can go straight to the start line, but most runners do and it is a lovely touch. The start is in the centre of the village and the course is a loop along quiet country lanes, with around 2 miles on byways. The finish and race HQ is at the local primary school and car parking is free and opposite the school. The race also has one of the best medals around, shaped as a poppy. This race is very popular and gets booked up very quickly, so enter as soon the race is open or risk being placed on the reserve list. A highly recommended event.
This race won the Howard Williams Trophy in 2016 & 2017, awarded to the best road race in Essex as voted for by the running clubs.
