This is one of the few evening races in the calendar. It is a fantastic event on a warm summers evening. It is set in the picturesque village of Pleshey and organised by the Springfield Striders Running Club. The course is 2 2.5 miles laps through the village and around the local country lanes. There are no road closures, but there are very few cars and the ones there are are well handled by the marshals. The field is mainly club runners, as it doubles-up as the Essex 5 miles championship. It is a relaxed event, with no medals, but each finisher get a free burger from the BBQ. Parking is free and on the village hall field next to the start and finish. A highly recommended event.
