This is a multi distance event that takes place on New Years Eve. It is run along the Flitch Way, a 15 mile footpath / cycle way across Essex from Braintree to Bishops Stortford. It was orginally a single track railway line, before closed by Dr Beecham's cuts in the 1950's. The Takeley 10k also runs along a different part of the Way. The race has 10k, Half Marathon and Marathon distances all starting and finishing at the Felsted Memorial Hall. It is a low-key event with no chip timings, no distance markers and minimal stewarding. It also has a slightly curious finish, with runners running straight into the village hall to finish. But regardless, it is a very good event, the Flitch Way is a lovely setting to run and it is good to get out after the excesses of Christmas. Finishers get a medal in the shape of an old railway ticket as homage to the Flitch Way's heritage.

The organisers announced the race on New Years Eve 2023 will be the last, this will be a real shame and hopefully somebody else can take it on.
